Minnal Mayaavi appeared Viral Manithargal (finger sized men) published as the 2nd creation of Mullai Thangarasan in Sep 1976 and won comics fans support overwhelmingly.

 





Story has started like this. In dull afternoon, a sleepy restaurant in “Kovai” city…the finger sized men suddenly appeared and panicked the people.

Next day morning, Viral Manithargal (finger sized men)  spread all over Tamil Nadu. There were waves of Viral Manithargal (finger sized men) was seen everywhere and people understood the danger behind the appearance of Viral Manithargal. From every city, the faxes transmitted to the Tamil Nadu Govt. In the next 4 hours the news spread all over Indian and before the dawn of next day, the news spread all over the world beyond India and made them panic.

The Government got surprised as their effort to eliminate the Viral Manithargal (finger sized men) with the help of Canons and Fire Fighters. In this situation Prime Minister received a secret letter in that it is mentioned as follows: Dear Prime Minister, except me the creator of the Viral Manithargal, no one can destroy my creations and do not waste your time.




If you wish to get rid of this stressing situation and avoid the war of Viral Manithargal, put Rs. 10 Crore worth golden bridges into the flight landing in Palam Airport at 10 AM, Wednesday.

If you try to block the flight over the air, not only Tamil Nadu, all over India, the Viral Manithargal (finger sized men) will spread and the consequences will be very dangerous. WARNING!!!! - Ranjan Bose (It is written like this).

High level Govt officers gathered in meeting to discuss whether they will be able to supply the demanded golden bridges and they have finalized to give. At the same time, a senior officer handing over this case to Minnal Mayaavi to capture the dangerous Ranjan Bose.

Sedang, a space shuttle moving around the earth. Minnal Mayaavi disappeared his body with the help of Samrang, an astronaut in Sedang Space shuttle. Minnal Mayaavi travelled in the flight which carrying Golden platforms to meet the enemy face-to-face, which means meeting the lion in its cave where the deceased man claiming that his fore father are from the royal families and he is the blood of this royal kings. He is trying to restore the lost respect of their fore fathers and want become as a great king of India. He also claimed the he has done a research for 30 years day  night and day created “ViralManithargal”, the 10 crore ransom golden platforms are just for the test only.





He claimed that he will win over and rule the whole world with the help of Viral Manaithargal without any bloodshed but with peaceful revolution. He caught the violent Mayaavi, laid him on the “Minnal Kathir” table and applied Minnal rays on Mayaavi.





Unfortunately, the deceased does not know that Mayaavi’s body will disappear if Minnal rays touch him. Scientist Ranjan Bose saw this and said, there is a mistake in formula but that also turned for good only as it melted the complete body. He claimed that it is a success and it will be useful to eliminate the enemy in disappearance itself. When he saw Mayaavi’s fingers only moving, he was afraid and ran. On his way he took an idle and thrown on Mayaavi but it hit the equipment controlling the Viral Manithargal (finger sized men) and it got exploded. Due to this, Viral Manithargal (finger sized men) fallen on the streets like debris. He took a lorry to escape and Mayaavi took a motor bike to chase him. In this Ranja bose dashed the tree and lost his life.


Mullai Thangarasan’s intelligent brain give extra ordinary shining to the dialogues. Page by page, it creates the interest. Moreover from page 36 to page 42. The dialogues between Ranjan Bose and Minnal Mayaavi are very interesting.


As for as this comics is concerned, the hero is “Artist Chellam”. Movement of Viral Manithargal, reactions of Ranjan Bose and Minnal Mayaavi and the great palace of Ranjan Bose and its background are examples of his imaginative power and his talent in Art.


This is comics was being written and art like and equivalent to FLEET WAY comics stories. If these comics would have published in English when published it would have received the great attraction and support from all over the world readers and fans of comics.


Writing skilled Mullai Thangarasan and great artist Chellam would have born abroad they would have become the presidents of Island if “Muthufan” to say.


“Adimai Theevil Mayaavi” published as third issue of Mayaavi Comics. It was related to Sea pirates story and also reached the sky success. “Express Kollaiyar” was announced as the 4th issue but not sure whether it was published or not. After this Mayaavi comics was being stopped.

               Mathi Comics

In 1978 Mullai Thangarasan joined as editor in Ratna Comics and in 1979 he joined Ratna Bala. In the same1979, the man who published the children issues without expecting any benefit and great supporter of Children Magazine Mr. M.S. Subramaniam (Valarmathi). A comics being launched as Mathi Comics and edited by M.S. Subramaniam. Including all Mayaavi comics, around 25 comics are published for several years. Adimaitheevil Mayaave was published in Mathi comics as Pulikkuhaiyil Mayaavi.

Mullai Thangarasan's third character creation "Irumbukkai Mayaa Mayavan" appearing comics also was published by M.S. Subramaniam.

 



Mullai Thangarasan has introduced several world comics hero's to the tamil speaking comic fans but his own created characters are Jam Jim Jack, Minnal Mayaavi, Irumbukkai Mayaa Mayavan, Captain Moorcock, CID Karthy. Those who read these comics written by Mullai Thangarasan and art by great artist chellam (Chellapan) will think about the President of Mathi Nilayam, Mr. M.S. Subramaniam who published those comics in the midst of difficulties and Thank them.

One day in 1976, June Month
 Editor Mullai Thangarasan introduced a new comics in the name of “Mayaavi Comics” through “Mathi Nilayam”. In that he introduced his new character “Minnal Mayaavi” and it is the name of the comics.

As per the story “Mark bureau” a private detective company working with the help of Government and the detective officer “Prabu” his number “Mark 8” is meeting his head on his urgent invitation.

The detective head briefed to him that the “Sarvathesa Mosadi Kumbal” have produced currency notes of small countries in bulk and trying to create inflation and financial crisis in those countries and their Gang leader hiding in “Elakkadavu” located “Anaimalai” in Tamizhagam. The detective head has given the responsibility to catch those into Prabu.

When Prabu came out after taking over this charge, a mysterious gang came in car tried to shoot at him and a bike was trying his dash him and a lorry came to over run Prabu missed the target and dashed with a tree.

Is Mark Bureau losing is its strong hold, how the opposite party got the news. Thinking this in mind, Prabu was running towards to escape and finally he caught a train but he was captured by “Mosadi Gumbal” and brought in front of the leader “Digambaran”. After exchange hot arguments, Digambaran said he will cut Prabu into pieces and send to his head. At first he ordered to cut Prabu’s finger. But Prabu jumped into the forest river and escaped. After hearing this Digambaran throwing his assistants who are responsible into the same river. Prabu rescued them and joined hands with them and advancing towards that mysterious
Bangalow.

Suddenly a sound raised have shacked the forest. A mysterious shuttle has landed from the sky near Digambaran’s Bangalow. A man came out from the shuttle called himself “Samrang” a planet living and his space shuttle “Se Dang” had a trouble while flying that is why he has landed here and he will fly again after repairing his shuttle.

In this situation, Digambaran, the leader of “Sarvadesa Sadigara Gumbal” (International Looters Gang) talking with nice words and taken him to his secret Bangalow and torturing him to tell the secret of “Minsara Kathir Marmam” (Mysterious Electric Wave).

Here, Prabu taking the responsibility of rescuing the plant-man, appeared in Digambaran’s bungalow. The gangsters got collapsed when Prabu & Co stuck them suddently but Prabu was caught under the gun-tip and tied-up with tree got his finger’s cut. Even the gangsters can’t see and closed their eyes, as per Editor Mullai Thangarasan.

In this situation, Minnal Kiraha Manithan (Space man), Samrang brings down the Machine shaped Iron and attacked Digambaran and his gang and destroyed them.

After this Samrang took Prabu into his shuttle and made him unconscious and fixed steel fingers instead of the wounded fingers when Prabu tried to rescue him. Moreover, he fixed different weapon in every fingers the they will disappear when there is lightning wave and also he named Prabu as Minnal Mayaavi.

Whenever there is Lightning wave in the sky, the hand shape will disappear and if required it can be demanded from the Space shuttle "Sedang" by signaling to it and Samrang asked Prabu to bring all the perpetrators to the justice by using this power.

Editor Editor Mullai Thangarasan had made a feeling page by page through out the comics by imprinting a marvelous story. It is very unfortunate that cine field did not utilize the very intelligent Editor Mullai Thangarasan.

Artist Chellam alias Chellappan, drawn the cartoon comedy for JAM JIM JACK characters. He had drawn a very serious action pictures which are straight opposite to Minnal Mayaavi characters. He had not drawn the pictures just casually but using all his talents with great involvement he drawn the pictures with powerful imagination. He gave the real feelings like angry, carelessness, happiness and sadness on the faces of all the characters genuinely. Not only this, sky, cloud, office, table and flower pack on that, he left nothing without art.

JAM JIM JACK By Haja Ismail

JAM- JIM -JACK

1976 A Golden year for Mr. Mullai Thangarasan. In that year he created his very famous characters like JIM JAM JACK, Minnal Maayaawi, Irumbukkai Maayaa  Maayavan. C.I.D.Karthi.


“Paarai Theevu Marmam”

On those days he joined hands with President of ‘Mathi Nilayam’, Mr. S. Subramaniyam (Valarmathi) and published JIM JAM JACK series first story “Parai Theevu Marmam” with “Mahean” Art for 50 Paise and that too in double colour.

When he said about this character “Jambulingam, a young genius, whose aim is to become a detective specialist. He was grown-up by his Aunt as he lost his parents in his childhood. “Jackayya is his assistant and Jimmy is his pet dog. His first story has started in this way only. One day Jambulingam announced his name as “Jam” his assistant Jackayya as “Jack” and his pet dog as “Jim”. He also claimed in the press meet arranged later that he is going to investigate a Paris bank looting.

In this condition, a well dressed man, Flum who came to Jam’s house told Jam that he wants to investigate Paris bank looting and he wanted to take Jam with him in a private flight and he took Jam,jim,jack &Co  with him by telling that French president sent a flight for them.

When the flight was in the middle of the sky, that mysterious man claimed that their gang (Sarvathesa Sathikararhal Sangam) has looted the bank and as per their head quarters instruction, they want to eliminate Jam then he jumped into parachute before the flight to reach Blue Sea.

Flight started getting dismantled as part by part. Jam &Co escaped with the Parachute as they took with them by pre-plan and reached a small island covered by rocks (Paraitheevu).

They have captured surprisingly all the gangsters hidden there and handed over them to police. He imprinted the interest in every page turned and Mullai Thangarasan’s story styles adding the shining to the story.

 

In 1977, Mullai Thangarasan published four comics through VIJI Art Publications in series of JAM JIM JACK for just 60 Paise. This time the artist was great Mr. Chellam alias Chellappan. Thus Mullai Thangarasan’s every story was then supported by Chellam’s Art and which attracted all the comics fans.

Here I write about the two comics I have….

1. Pahal Kollaiyar:

When Jam let the plane to fly which was sent by his friend from America, got exploded due to the sudden whirl wind and fallen on the Star Jinning Factory. Jam who went in the night to rescue the plane and found some gangsters printing duplicate postal stamps. When the gang leader trying to shoot Jam who was caught by them was captured by police after Jam’s adventures.

 

2. Sadikararkal Valaiyil Jaam:



 As for this comics Jimmy was the Hero. Several VIP’s had to get imprisoned since the Paris Bank looting was investigated by Jam and few international terror elements got furious over this and planned to kill Jam. The perpetrators make Jam unconscious and kidnap him inside Bureau. Untried JIM following the perpetrators saving Jam by adventures and get them captured by police.

In continuation to this, Mullai Thangarasan in 1978 in Rathna comics and in 1979 in Ratna Bala, he took over the charge as a writer.

 

When he worked in Rathna Bala, he published JAM JIM JACK’s comics in middle pages and one comics in a month. He also published new Jam Jim Jack in Ratna Bala. Out of this JAM JIM JACK appearing KAANAGA KALLARGAL, Villain "Flum" appears as leader of Gang killing elephants for ivory.

After some time he quite Ratna Bala and joined Anil Publication in Sivakasi as an editor of their children’s magazine, Manipappa. In this too, he published JAM JIM JACK stories and important point to note here is, the Manipappa is last book he worked for. The first story was “Paraitheevu marmam”, he published this again with Mr. Chellam’s art.















During his tenure in Ratna comics, Ratna Bala, Manipappa, he published lots of magic stories. His history in the tamil comics is an indelible one.
